Email sending

Connect your own SMTP server or a Postmark, Resend or SendGrid account so StickyPrompts can send email for you - from chat, agents and workflows, on your domain.

With an email connection, “email this summary to the sales team” stops being a copy-and-paste job. The AI writes the message and sends it through your own email account, from your own address. StickyPrompts has no sender of its own: every message goes out through the provider you connect, so it lands with your domain, your reputation and your provider’s logs.

Supported providers

ProviderWhat you need
SMTPHost, port, username, password and encryption for any SMTP server
PostmarkA Postmark server token
ResendA Resend API key
SendGridA SendGrid API key

Before you start

  • Verify your sender with your provider. Postmark, Resend and SendGrid only send from addresses or domains you have verified with them. Do this in your provider’s dashboard first, otherwise the connection cannot be saved.
  • Choose the provider carefully. A workspace has one email connection, and its provider cannot be changed later. To move to a different provider, remove the connection and add a new one.
  • Use a dedicated key. Create a server token or API key just for StickyPrompts, so you can rotate or revoke it without affecting anything else.

Connect an email account

  1. Open Add connection

Go to Integrations, select Add connection and choose Workspace to share the mailer with everyone, or Personal to keep it for yourself. Only workspace owners and admins can add workspace connections.

  2. Choose Email Sending

Select the Email Sending card: “Send emails through your own SMTP, Postmark, Resend, or SendGrid account.” If it says Already connected, the workspace already has its email connection.

  3. Name it and set the sender defaults

Fill in the fields every provider shares:

    FieldWhat to enter
NameWhat people will recognise, such as Northwind Mailer.
DescriptionWhat it is for, such as Transactional email via Postmark.
Default from emailThe address messages are sent from. Required, and it must be a sender your provider accepts.
From nameThe display name recipients see, such as Northwind Analytics. Optional.
Reply-toWhere replies should go, if not the from address. Optional.
  4. Pick the provider and add its credentials
    • Postmark: paste the server token.
    • Resend or SendGrid: paste the API key.
    • SMTP: enter the host, port, username and password, and choose the encryption: STARTTLS (the usual choice, typically port 587), SSL (typically port 465) or None.
  5. Save

StickyPrompts checks the details before saving. For SMTP it signs in to your server without sending anything. For Postmark, Resend and SendGrid it sends one test message to that provider’s own test address, which is why the from address must already be verified. When it succeeds, the card appears under Email Sending marked Connected.

Send email from chat

Ask for the email in plain language: who it goes to, and what it should say. The AI drafts the message and sends it through your connection.

Email a short summary of this conversation to maria.lopez@northwind.example
Find the deals in Pipedrive at Proposal Made, then email a summary with the
contacts to sales@northwind.example

You don’t need the address when the recipient is a colleague. StickyPrompts can see who is in your workspace, so these work too:

Email this summary to Sarah.
Turn the table into a PDF and send it to our CFO with a two-line note.

The AI looks the person up among your teammates (by name, or by role when your teams say who does what), makes the attachment if you asked for one, and sends it.

The Pipedrive request above combines two integrations in one step - see CRM for the result. Each send shows up in the reply’s actions line, so you can confirm what went out and to whom.

Workflows send email the same way, with no email step to configure: “email the PDF to the CFO every Friday” is the whole instruction. See No action blocks.

Troubleshooting

ProblemWhat to check
The connection will not saveThe from address is not verified with your provider, or the token or key is wrong or lacks send permission. For SMTP, check host, port and encryption match your server.
Email Sending says Already connectedThe workspace already has its email connection. Use that one, or remove it first to change provider.
A message is refusedYour provider rejected it, often because of an unverified sender or an invalid recipient address. Check your provider’s activity log.
