Document editor
Create a polished document from a template and a short description, refine it by asking for changes, and keep every version. Download it or add it to a knowledge base.
The Document Editor is for the documents that take an afternoon to lay out: a launch announcement, a case study, a one-pager, a newsletter. Pick a template, describe what the document should say, and StickyPrompts writes and formats it. Then refine it the way you would with a colleague - “shorten the intro”, “add a pricing table” - and every round is saved as a new version.
Create a document
- Open Document Editor and choose a template
Go to Apps and choose Document Editor. On Choose a template, use Preview to see a template, then Use to start from it. Blank document starts from scratch.
- Describe the document
Tell it what the document is about and give it the facts it needs: the audience, the key messages, the numbers, the dates. The more concrete the facts, the less you will need to correct later.
Launch announcement for Northwind Analytics, going live Tuesday 6 October 2026. A self-serve dashboard that shows mid-size retailers (10-200 stores) their sales, inventory and store performance in one view. Connects to 5 data sources. Include a "why now" section and a short customer quote placeholder. - Generate and review
Generate the document and read it through. It appears in the editor with the template’s layout and tone.
Templates
| Template | Tone and use |
|---|---|
| Blank document | Start from scratch with no template. |
| Startup Pitch Deck | Direct and ambitious but never hyperbolic. |
| Technical One-Pager (RFC / Design Doc) | Precise and terse. States assumptions explicitly. |
| Product Launch Announcement | Excited but grounded: enthusiasm backed by concrete benefits. |
| SaaS Case Study | Confident and outcome-driven. Leads with numbers, not adjectives. |
| Weekly Team Newsletter | Warm, casual, first-person plural (“we shipped”, “we’re celebrating”). |
A template sets both the structure and the writing style, so choose by the tone you want as much as by the format.

Request changes
Under REQUEST CHANGES, describe what to change - for example “Make the tone more formal” or “Add a section comparing the Growth and Scale plans” - and select Apply. Use Attach to give it extra material to work from, such as a price list or a customer quote.
Ask for one kind of change at a time. “Shorten the intro” and “add a pricing table” as two requests are easier to review than one.
Versions
Every applied change creates a new version. Versions shows how many there are and lets you go back to an earlier one if a change went the wrong way.
Template
The TEMPLATE panel shows which template the document started from. View template opens it.
Download or delete
Download saves the document to your computer. Delete removes it.
Add it to a knowledge base
Under KNOWLEDGE BASE, Upload to Knowledge Base adds the document to a knowledge base so chats and agents can use it as context. It always reflects the latest version, so there is no need to re-upload after you make changes. See Knowledge bases.
Tips
- Pick the template by tone. The same facts read very differently as a pitch deck and as a newsletter.
- Front-load the facts. Dates, numbers, names and the one thing the reader must remember.
- Say who it is for. “For operations leads who have never heard of us” changes the whole document.
- Use versions freely. Try a bold rewrite; you can always go back.
